Our Owner and Piercer — Kate Hauck
-
Kate, owner and primary piercer of the Wilder Studio, has been piercing for five years.
Her goal is to change the ideas around piercing and bring a safer, more inclusive, and sophisticated approach to the business.
“Having my own space allows me to cater more to piercing clients, as well as showing that piercing can be a whole separate entity from the tattoo world. My goal is always to offer the best customer experience in the safest environment.“

Healthy practice and safety is the biggest priority at the Wilder Studio.
“I am always trying to educate myself on better way to pierce and care for piercings, as well as passing that information on to my clients. I spend a lot of time and money investing in continuing my education, and to improve my practices and materials as I learn more.“

Kate’s goal is to become certified with the Association of Professional Piercers (APP).
“Becoming certified by the APP has been a goal of mine since I began piercing. They are the only governing body in the country’s piercing industry, and their goal is to educate and ensure safe piercing practices. Because South Dakota is so unregulated in this industry, I really want to change the game. I’m not required to do many of the things I do safety and quality wise. But to get certified is just a way to show my commitment to continuing my safety practices and to be constantly learning. I want people to feel confident in the trust they give me to handle their safety.”
